Chief of Police

Headshot ChiefKeith Glass has been employed with the City of Monroe Police Department since 1993, Glass has served as the Chief of Police since May of 2002 and currently serves the Director of Public Safety having management responsibilities for both Fire and Police Departments.

Chief Glass is a 1975 graduate of Monroe Area High School, a 2001 graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, a 2008 graduate of the Columbus State University Law Enforcement Command College, 2012 Delegation Head of Georgia State University's International Law Enforcement Exchange to Israel and the 2012 USDOJ FBI Georgia Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar.

Chief Glass is the Past President of the Peace Officers Association of Georgia, Past President and current Executive Broad Member of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police,was appointed to the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Council (POST) by Governor Nathan Deal in 2010 and served on the Probable Cause Committee of POST until being appointed by Governor Deal in September of 2015 as a Commissioner on the Peace Officers Annuity Benefit Board of Commissioners.
