Cable Television Changes

Untitled 1What?

The City of Monroe is going through a Digital Conversion for its Cable TV system.  This Digital Conversion is the process in which our analog TV signals are converted to digital signals.  Analog signals/channels take up more bandwidth, which limits the ability to deliver more channels or other services associated with a shared fiber connection.

Why?

We were required by our channels providers to convert certain channels to digital channels and more channels available to our mini-basic customers.

When?

Throughout 2016, we will be updating our entire system, in sections, until completed.

How does this affect you?

Your TV

Your service could be affected if:

  • You have an Analog TV, not connected to Set-Top or DTA (digital-to-analog converter)
  • You have a flat scree TV not connected to Set-Top box or DTA, without a Digital Tuner built in

If you fail into either of these categories, you will not be able to watch programming once your area is converted.
