We want to give a heads up to everyone that may have internet service with the City of Monroe. While this may not directly relate to everyone, there may be situations and circumstances where customers may have Belkin routers in their homes. According to our network operations center at IBBS, Belkin attempted to push out firmware updates to routers that were online, which has resulted in a good majority of these routers not working once the firmware was updated. Our call center has gotten a large number of calls this morning with internet issues involving routers not working, all of which have been Belkin routers.
If you are a customer with the City of Monroe (and possibly a customer of other ISPs) and have a Belkin router at home, please be aware of this if you experiencing any problems.
