Matthew Chancey was hired full time this week to the position of City Administrator with the City of Monroe, Ga. He was appointed to the interim position in September 2012 following the resignation of former administrator Dr. Julian Jackson who took a position with the newly formed City of Peachtree Corners, Georgia.
Chancey graduated from Monroe Area High School in 2000 and has been employed by the city since 2001. Starting in the Utility Department, Chancey has worked in numerous areas, most recently as our City Planner for two years before his appointment. Chancey holds a Bachelors degree in Technology Education from the University of Georgia and a Masters of Public Administration from Valdosta State University.
