On Stage Playhouse

The Buildings and Grounds division is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of City owned properties and facilities. This includes Childers Park, Pilot Park, Art Guild, old City Hall, Uncle Remus Library, Community Building, On Stage Playhouse, City Hall, Airport, Utility and Public Works facilities, and various other City owned facilities and locations around Monroe. This process is achieved by the combined services of internal and contract labor.

Haven

This division is responsible for the grounds and perimeter maintenance of city-owned cemeteries. Currently, all grounds maintenance is contracted out by the City of Monroe, with contractors cutting the grass on a bi-weekly basis and trimming bushes as needed in areas. It is also responsible for coordination with funeral directors and grave space location. Sales and record keeping of plots are coordinated by the clerks at City Hall. Information Technology

The Information Technology (IT) division provides technology hardware and software support to all users within the city government and liaisons with other agencies and entities to provide communication and exchange of electronic information, in addition to administrating the city website and other electronic information portals and services for our citizens.

Newsletter

The Marketing division provides different avenues and materials to communicate the activities and correspondence of the City of Monroe with the community and citizens. The current role is embedded within different departments that include Economic Development, Human Resources, and Central Services. The Marketing division includes the issuance of newsletters, social media updates, website updates, and participates in other citywide events.

Procurement Simple

The Purchasing division for the City of Monroe is a function of the Central Services Department. As a division, Purchasing is directly or indirectly responsible for the acquisition of materials, supplies, equipment, and services throughout the City. Purchasing is also responsible for materials management and the movement of goods into, thru, and out of the organization in order to provide services to the citizens of Monroe.
