First Friday Concert Presented by Snellville, Heating, Air & Plumbing~ September 1st

Snellville Heating, Air & Plumbing presents The Kinchafoonee Cowboys with Nathan Morgan as the opening act to end our season on  September 1st.

We'll be on the lawn of the historic court house  (111 South Broad Street) while our town green is under construction.  

Visit our food court for dinner and drinks or come early and dine downtown! No outside alcohol. Alcohol may be purchased onsite or in a downtown restaurant using our Monroe branded to-go cup.

July 4th Hometown Celebration

With respect to Governor Kemp’s latest executive order and to our citizens for whom we share a responsibility to protect, the City of Monroe will postpone the fireworks display scheduled for this July 4th.   A makeup date in September will be announced later.  During this time, we ask that you continue to enjoy yourselves and celebrate our Country, but continue to honor social distancing and other safekeeping protocols in doing so.  

 

 

Downtown Small Business Stabilization Grant

In an effort to support downtown businesses during these trying times, the City of Monroe and the Downtown Development Authority have created a Downtown Stabilization Fund to award grants of up to $2,500 for businesses within the DDA boundaries. The guidelines and application are available below. Funds will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. The following types of businesses may apply for these funds: 

Event T-shirt Promo

Are you missing our 2020 events? So are we!!! Well, you can feel like you've been to one of our events by purchasing our 2020 event t-shirt (it'll be a collector's item to remember the events that never were).  AND...all proceeds from the shirt sales will go to benefit the downtown business of your choice. Just tell us who to send the shirt sale monies to when you checkout. If you'd like to order large quantities, please email us directly.

Look Up!

The Walton Teen Advocacy Board invites you to join them as they "Look up!" from phones to make eye contact and be positive for each other. This will be a screen-free event on the Walton County Historic Courthouse lawn on Saturday, August 14th, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. There will be music, food, health resources, free giveaways, and lots of fun! If you are able to put away your phone for 2 hours, you'll get a reward!  Click HERE for more information about the event and to see how you can be involved.

Pilot Park Playground Equipment Systems

PLEASE NOTE THE DUE DATE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO APRIL 23, 2020 AT 2:00 PM (EST) DUE TO THE COVID-19 SITUATION!!!

The City of Monroe is currently seeking to completely rehabilitate and replace all playground equipment at Pilot Park, located at 515 East Church Street. The park is situated in the historic district on approximately 1.81 acres and a little over .25 miles east of downtown Monroe.
