Downtown Monroe Special Events

We love a good special event here in Downtown Monroe! From seasonal celebrations and shopping events to live music and family fun, there’s always something happening downtown. Follow along for upcoming dates, event details, and all the fun to come. 

Lunch on the Lawn Series: 2nd and 4th Wednesday of May and June at 11:30am, featuring local musicians. Grab lunch from your favorite downtown restaurant, bring a chair and enjoy a lunchtime performance.

Alcovy River Park

The Alcovy River Park is a future planned park area on approximately 123 acres and is a little over 2 miles southwest of downtown Monroe at 1000 GA Highway 138. This parcel of land was donated in December of 2020 by Reliant Homes to the City of Monroe for the build of a future park.

Truck Route Enforcement - Ordinance Amendment

NOTICE: Heavy trucks must use the new State Route (SR) 83 Connector (Monroe Bypass) to bypass and avoid downtown Monroe, Georgia, to avoid the historic district, EXCEPT FOR LOCAL DELIVERIES. This regulation is per the Chapter 94 Ordinance Amendment that mandates trucks over 26,000 lbs, or contain more than 8 wheels, or have a length greater than 45 ft, inclusive of all trailers or other attached implements, to use the SR 83 Connector as a through-route, diverting from US 78/SR 11 through downtown Monroe, Georgia for better safety and traffic flow.
